Kevin, you missed the chance to ask Ella about that necklace.
Eric muttered discontentedly.
I sighed helplessly, "I also wanted to ask, but didn't you feel that Ella wasn't very willing to talk to me? We had an argument last week, and she must feel awkward seeing me. If I were to ask her now, 'Which man gave you that necklace?' or 'Did another man propose to you?' Do you think that would be appropriate?"
