She could feel as if the whole class was staring at her, they probably were waiting for her execution
She felt a little squeeze on her shoulder, a gesture of support by Brian.
But it was not well received, by the professor, his glare became harsher, while his lips got more pursed, how did he do that?
"You may enter Ms. Embers and Mr. Brown" he said coldly, completely ignoring Ada's question, should she be greateful or insulted?
"Lets move before he changes his mind" Brian whispered in Ada's ear, while gently pushing her forward
"You may let her go Mr. Brown or will she fall without your support? " he mocked
There were snickers all around the classroom
Damn him!
Brian left her shoulder, as to not embarrass themselves further
"We do not have all day to wait for your grand entrance, so if you'll could kindly take your seats...." he said gesturing towards the class, while the entire class muffled their laughter
Whyever did she think his voice was beautiful? He was a vile creature, she bet, he was a peacock, nasty thing that he was!
She and Brian quickly took their seats, while he just stood there,with a raised eyebrow
"Lets start then, with your permission " he said mockingly looking at them, or more specifically at Ada
Was he deliberately picking on her?
"So class, today we will talk about the age old myth surrounding this school, the phoenix" he said, looking directly at her
Will he continue to stare at her in this manner?
"phss, did you offend him before? " Brian caught her attention
She had no idea, they had just bumped imto each other on the her first day here in this strange place, he cannot be still upset about it, can he?
Ada just shook her head in response
He was turned towards the board and was writing something, but he was deliberately scrathing the chalk on the board
"Phoenix are beautiful creatures, calm by nature but according to some texts they can be violent when provoked"
He continued, he again scribbled on board
Ahh! The sound seemed too shrill to bear
Ada looked around no one else seemed affected by it
Weird, weren't birds suppose to have sensitive nature?
it was becoming unbearable now
Ada discreetly tried to cover her ears, with her hands
"Ms. Embers!" he called out, his ice blue eyes held hers as she snapped her head up
"If what I am saying does not interest you, you may leave!" he said sternly, his expression serious
"I... I " She was at loss for words, he was definitely offended by her, but what had she done to incur his wrath?
"Now Ms. Embers" he said pointing towards the door
He was a bastard!
As Ada got up, she lost her grip on her bag, the content of it scattered on the ground
While the others just laughed, now openly
She hated him! Ada had never been this embarrassed in her life
She bent down to pick up her things
There was an extra pair of hands helping her, it was Brian
"Are you alright? " Brian whispered with concern
Ada could feel tears pricking her eyes, she had to leave
"We do not have all day Ms. Embers to wait for your grand entries and exits! " The jerk drawled
She snatched her bag and rushed out
Ada had never been this humiliated in her entire life! How dare he!
She was standing outside the class, she wasn't sure what she had done to be treated like this! That jerk had gone overboard
She could feel tears roll down her cheeks, why the hell was she crying? He had no right to treat her like this professor or not!
She will talk to him! Ask him what his bloody problem was!
Ada removed her glasses and patted her eyes, she will give herself away if she kept crying like this
Soon she heard a c**k cawing at the distance, signaling the end of lecture
There were students spilling out of the classrooms and into the corridors, even the class in which she was humiliated in, got emptied, the students gave her looks as they saw her standing there
Some looked at her maliciously while someone with pity!
She hated it !
Ones the last person left the class Ada stepped inside the class , but the scene that she witnessed shocked her
"Why did you do that to her Amar? " Brian asked the professor, with anger
So that jerk had a name
"She had to know her place! " He growled
Great! Another shithead who thought himself superior!
"What the hell are you talking about Amar? Since when did you care about these petty things, she is a human, so what? " Brian said, outraged on her behalf
At least he is proving himself a trustworthy friend
"What nonsense! I do not care about that! " he said scandalized, as if he was shocked that Brian would even suggest it
What an actor!
"Then what are you talking about? " Brian asked confused
Damn right! What the hell was he talking about?
"She is Mine!" He said simply, as if he was reading morning news
