The sun was shining brightly over the camp as I helped distribute food and relief goods to the families affected by the gruesome attacks. The atmosphere was heavy as the silence was punctuated by murmurs of grief and whispers of gratitude as we worked. Children clung to their parents, their eyes wide with fear and exhaustion, and the adults wore the kind of expressions that only come with losing everything.
