"Dwight!" I called out, my voice trembling, as his hand slipped from mine.
I patted his cheek, hoping to wake him—but there was no reaction.
My world felt like it was collapsing.
"I-It can’t be…" I choked out, tears streaming. "D-Dwight… wake up…"
I tried to lift him, but suddenly a sharp, unbearable pain tore through my chest.
"Aaaaaah!"
It felt as if something vital inside me was being pulled away, slowly, relentlessly.
"Luna!" cries rang out as I staggered, barely able to keep from falling.
"I-It hurts…" I gasped, struggling to breathe.
"It's not good! Luna is showing signs! We need to save Alpha immediately!" the commotion around me grew frantic.
Gamma Euno swooped in, snatching Dwight from my arms and rushing him inside to be treated.
I collapsed to the floor, clutching my
