Chapter 4

1865 Words
Aliana irritably opens her eyes at the sound of someone clearing his throat multiple times beside her. She's on a bus, on her way to the restaurant. It's still six in the morning. She woke up early because she can't afford to be late again, and she doesn't wish to be fired on her first week of working. What would that man think if she got fired? No way. He will be fired first before that happens. She really doesn't understand how Klaus gets his confidence. Yesterday, she was so pissed off because he kept on bugging her with endless questions in the kitchen room. Like: If she finds him attractive or she falls in love at first sight with him, that's why she can't open her mouth every time he's just adjacent to her. Like what? She wishes she had the same level of confidence as him, but not the same level of thickness of his face. As usual, Klaus just elicited a glare or even just silence. She'd rather work her ass off than waste her energy on someone that's not worthy of her response. Again, when their shift ended, Klaus pulled up to her on the side road and ordered her to get in the car, but you already know what happened next. Aliana whips her head to her side and knits her brows when she catches a sight of Klaus, grinning at her. What is he doing beside her? Doesn't he have a car? She didn't know her mood would be ruined this early in the morning. She crosses her arms over her chest and brings her attention in front. Are they still far from the restaurant? She only has one wish, and that is for Klaus to keep his mouth shut. “Hey. Are you not even going to acknowledge the presence of your handsome colleague?” Klaus asks, still showing his white teeth, but a shocked expression registers on his face when Aliana suddenly presses the ring button beside her. Meaning she reaches her destination, but for all Klaus knows, they are still far from the restaurant. The bus halts slowly, and Aliana stands up. “Where are you going?” Klaus looks up at her, confused. “Going out.” “Huh? But we're still far from the restaurant.” The confused look on his face gets even more apparent. What did he do? She doesn't respond anymore and just walks past his seat and goes out. Actually, his dad forbade him to use his car for a month. That's why he's riding on a bus right now, so from now on, he will be using public transport to get to work. He got angry at first because he thought his dad wasn't making any sense anymore. Apart from that, he was at a club with his friends the other day, drinking until one in the morning. He did nothing, so his dad was clearly being unreasonable, but upon thinking about it, his smile couldn't reach his ears even more, so him riding a bus with her today isn't in any way coincidental since he already knew what bus she always rides every day. The only disadvantage to it was, he had to wake up early in the morning. Klaus immediately stands up from his seat and follows Aliana out of the bus. Why are girls like this? Or maybe the right question is: why is she like this? But he still clings to his belief that he's just being hard to get, but deep inside she's really blushing and shrieking because of his presence. He shakes his head inwardly. This girl. She can't fool him. He knows she will give in to him in the near future because no one has ever resisted his charms. She's lucky that he has an interest in her. Aliana walks across the sideroad; her pace is fast, she already seems like she's running and that her life is at stake. Klaus is behind, catching up to her. She crosses the road and disappears into the crowd. She looks over her shoulder and feels relieved that Klaus is nowhere to be seen already. She would rather be late than be near his presence. If she is fired, then she has no choice but to find a job again. There are a lot of jobs out there anyway. She almost jumps when she tilts her head and Klausʼ face welcomes her. “What the heck do you want from me?” she barks. “Why are you avoiding me?” Klaus answers her with a question. There are creases on his forehead . She acts like she's the sole woman left on earth. Aliana sneers. “Avoiding you? Who's avoiding you?” “Then why did you get off the bus?” “What's wrong with it? Do you really have to know?” Klaus slips his hands into the pockets of his jeans, smirks, and leans in. “Why don't you just tell me that you have a crush on me?” He whispers, thinking that Aliana will blush and get shy, but Aliana just bursts out laughing, finding what she just heard utterly absurd. Her, Aliana, has a crush on him? Who does he think he is? "I wish I had your confidence," she says as she turns around and walks away, leaving Klaus behind. Klaus jogs after her. “Hey. I'm just joking,” he yells, with a smile across his face as he catches up to her. He halts when a Ferrari car pulls up next to him. It's Mason. “Dude. What are you doing on the sideroad this early in the morning like a lost chick?” Klaus hops in the passenger seat. “My freaking dad forbade me to use my car.” Mason laughs in disbelief. “Really?” "Do I appear to be joking?"Klaus leans on his side. “Chill. You're so hot-headed.” Mason says as he turns the key in the ignition and drives off. He already knows what to do. Why is she acting like that? Is she gay and that's why she's aloof to straight men like Klaus? He needs to find out because that might be the case if she's really not faking her hatred for him. Meanwhile, Aliana heaves a deep breath as he watches the car, where Klaus is fading in the distance. She looks at her wrist watch to see she still has one hour. She has avoided Klaus successfully for now, but how about at the restaurant? They both work there. A knowing smile curves on her lips as an idea pops up in her head. She will make him get fired. However, she immediately shakes her head. There are tons of ways to get rid of him except for that. She decides not to think about it for now. He's not worthy of her time. After ten minutes, a bus pulls up to a bus stop. She hops on and chooses the empty seat at the back. After about twenty minutes, the bus reaches the restaurant. She's not too excited as Klaus is probably there already. If she has already saved up adequate money, she decides to seek another job. She realizes that she will be stressed out not by working, but by Klaus's presence. She jumps out of the bus. She's less than thirty minutes early. Yesterday, on her way home, she dropped by a mall. When she's looking for something to give to Valeria, a man her age suddenly approached her and introduced himself. She politely asked the man what he needed from her; he looked embarrassed at first, but he asked her what her name was and if he could have her number, Aliana was about to refuse when Klaus appeared out of nowhere. She immediately changed her mind and gave him her name and her number before she walked away without casting Klaus a glance. But what Aliana doesn't know, it was Klausʼ best friend, Ethan. And they planned it. So now, Klaus already has her number, but he still doesn't text her as he still waits for the right timing. Klaus is in his locker room, changing into their uniform. He's thinking about inviting Aliana later at night, but thinks otherwise. Why is she trying to be hard to get anyway? For all he knows, they are just the same. And it's obvious that she's just feigning her hatred towards him . Klaus sneers as he buttons the remaining buttons of his black long-sleeve shirt. He then wraps his apron around his waist and gets out, but halts when he sees Aliana approaching. He leans his back against the jamb of the door frame as a smile he uses for every woman he has eyes on graces across his lips. However, Aliana just walks past him as though he doesn't exist there. He doesn't care. He leans off and follows her. “Hi, babe. Do you know what avoiding and hating someone you just met means?” he asks. Aliana enters the locker room for girls but turns around to look at Klaus. Klausʼ brows both raise a little in surprise to see her turn around. He thought she would ignore him again. “What?” she asks, raising an eyebrow. Klaus props his hand across the jamb of the door and looks down at Aliana as he smirks. “It means. . . You find me so attractive.” “Are you okay? I think you need medication,” she says and whips around. Klaus just laughs as he watches her walk away. He walks back to his locker room. “I just saw Aliana walk past our locker room. And damn she's hot as always.” “Shut up, mate. She's mine.” “What do you mean she's yours? She's clearly mine.” “She will only be yours after I use her.” They laugh after that. Klausʼ ears perk up when he hears two guys talking about Aliana. His brows meet before he heads towards their direction. “Who's yours?” The corner of his lips curls up. “You two are fired.” “Who do you think you are? Well, if you want, we can share her with you after we're done using her.” Klaus cracks his neck before he swings his fist towards them, catching them off guard. “What the hell?!” “I'll taste her first before I decide if I'll let you have a taste of her. But now, the best thing you can do is go home and never come back.” He looks at their names across their chests before he smirks and goes outside to look for her aunt, Evelyn. She's only his. No way he's going to let other people taste her. Their shift ends in a blink. Klaus didn't get to talk to Aliana much as the restaurant was overflowing with customers, so everyone was busy, including him. But since Klaus doesn't have his car with him, they both wait together on the side road for the bus.
