The forest was calm, the air crisp with the scent of pine and earth, as Addison walked hand-in-hand with Abel. The tension of the past few days, the overwhelming surge of magic and the looming threat of what lay ahead, seemed to melt away in the peaceful stillness of the woods. With her powers contained for now, there was a rare moment of calm to be had, and she was determined to savor it.
Abel glanced over at her, his expression soft, almost tender in the low light of the setting sun. "It's hard to believe how much has happened, isn't it?"
Addison gave a small laugh, her eyes glinting with a mix of exhaustion and amusement. "It’s been a lot. And now, finally, I get to walk through the woods without worrying about accidentally choking someone with shadows."
