Raven’s Pov.
I stood far in the corner of the council hall in Alpha Jax’s pack silence, unseen and untouched by the heat of their arguments.
The elders' voices bounced off the carved wooden walls, rising and falling like a restless storm. Each word, each accusation, each fearful whisper about my powers sliced through me but not one of them could sense I was right there among them.
Their eyes were fixed on Alpha Jax, waiting for him to pass judgement on me, waiting for him to either cast me out forever or Stand against his own people and I watched him my heart tightened.
I never wanted him or any of them, or neither did I want to stay in their pack, I was the woman of my own, the one everyone was afraid of. So all I wanted was for him to agree with them and stop troubling his spirit
