Olivia had almost finished cleaning the suite. This suite was the most luxurious of all, always occupied by businessmen, celebrities, and other high-society figures. Seeing how beautiful the suite was, one just wanted to stay there all day. Olivia, however, forbade herself from daydreaming too much; she wanted to keep her feet on the ground so the fall wouldn't be too abrupt. She smoothed the bedsheets before checking that she hadn't missed anything—it was routine in this line of work. The slightest mistake was punishable. She left the room and closed the door.
Justin entered the suite and went straight to the bathroom. He emerged a few minutes later with a towel around his waist. Something caught his eye: a pearl bracelet on the coffee table. It wasn't anything special; he didn't think a guest had left it behind, perhaps an employee. He examined it carefully before placing it back on the table. He decided to get dressed, but the door opened behind him. He turned around, determined to put this careless person in their place.
"Oh sorry, I didn't know someone was here," exclaimed a young woman in uniform whom he guessed was an employee.
"To be sorry, you must be sorry because your action could be fatal," he replied, carefully articulating each word.
Olivia stood rooted to the spot in the doorway, unsure whether to go in or out. The man standing opposite her glared at her menacingly; she didn't dare look up at the body she'd only seen from behind. From what she'd seen, this man was the most handsome she'd ever seen.
"What are you doing here, young woman?" she asked him in a threatening tone.
She jumped at the sight; though handsome, this man was nonetheless terrifying. He moved closer and stopped beside her, took her chin in his hand, and gazed intently into her eyes.
"I asked you a question, answer it," he continued, but in a gentler tone.
"I came... bracelet... to forget... here," she stammered. He looked at her for a moment, then relaxed his chin. He took the bracelet and showed it to her.
"Is this what you're looking for?" he asked.
She simply nodded. He turned around and put it back in its place. Her eyes widened in perplexity.
- I'm keeping it, I found it so I'm keeping it.
"But..." she managed to say.
He raised a questioning eyebrow. He advanced, but she retreated until she hit the wall; he placed his hands on either side of her, trapping her in his grip.
-But what? Hmm.
She didn't answer, constantly trying to avoid his gaze. In truth, it was the first time Olivia had been so close to a man; it was all new to her, and this closeness made her nervous.
"Go now," he announced, releasing her.
She ran, almost coaxing a smile from him. Justin watched the young woman fleeing. He was struck by the beauty of this employee. He was especially struck by her shyness; for a moment, he felt sorry for her—admittedly, he wasn't exactly known for his gentleness. He took the time to observe her from every angle; she was breathtakingly beautiful. He picked up the bracelet and sniffed it; it had a fruity scent that he recognized as the young woman's perfume. He took the phone and put it to his ear after dialing a number. Roxy was alarmed by her friend's expression.
"What's wrong?" she almost shouted. "You're trembling."
She brought him a glass of water, quenched his thirst, and then told him what had happened. Instead of being sorry, Roxy was actually quite excited.
-My God Olivia, if what you just told me is true then I envy you my darling I am rather jealous, you had the privilege of seeing such a beautiful body.
Olivia slapped her forehead in front of her friend who seemed to be lost in the clouds.
"You're beyond saving, Roxy," Olivia said before going back to her business.
Justin was a little on edge. This manager was truly contemptuous of the other employees. He had only asked her for information about this employee who appeared to be of African descent, judging by her accent and skin color, but instead, this woman did nothing but belittle her, trying to give her a bad impression. He regretted not having called Kyle for more information. With a wave of his hand, he silenced her and sent her away, promising himself he would fire her once he had everything in order at the hotel. He had received a negative report about this woman, who was Zack Gordon's cousin, and he refused to have a member of that family in his hotel for fear of future problems. He summoned Kyle, who arrived within minutes. He explained the situation, but Kyle remained silent for quite some time.
After a few minutes of reflection, Kyle asked her the question that was burning on his lips.
-Why go to so much trouble for a mere employee, and since when do you care so much about women, I thought you hated them.
Justin stood up and tightened his jaw; to be honest, he didn't know himself. He wasn't exactly sure why he was so keen to get to know this employee who, ever since they'd met, had only intrigued him. He put his hands in his pockets and stopped by the bay window that offered a magnificent view of Central Park.
"To be honest, I don't know, Kyle. I don't know, but there's a mystery surrounding this young woman that I want to unravel. You know me, my friend, I always get what I want. You find out the information about this girl for me; the rest is up to me."
With a nod of his head, Kyle withdrew without saying anything. Once alone, Justin removed the bracelet he had kept, he contemplated it once more; it bore the young woman's name.
"Olivia," he murmured.
