***A Few Months Later***
The house was full of family members and friends. Thank god we lived in a mansion and were able to make it possible. Sure, Everyone lived quite close to us, but Alex and I wanted everyone important with us the night before our wedding, and they were.
It also gives people the last chance to discuss things before they are put to bed completely, just in time for me and Alexander to say ‘’I Do’’ and be together forever.
I sat down in the dining room and watched some of the family just fuss around. Anyone would think it’s Grandma Reta’s wedding with all the panicking she’s doing.
Noone on Chris’ side of the family was coming, I didn’t want them there, and I’m pretty sure they weren’t all that bothered.
Chris and his husband were here though and that's all that mattered.
‘I remember the night before my wedding’ My mum suddenly spoke up, I looked over at her, cradling Orian and smiled. ‘I’ll be honest, I never thought It would happen’. She smiled to herself, but I couldn’t tell if it was happiness.
‘What was it like?’ I didn’t remember my mum and dads wedding that much, I remember the typical big, beautiful white dress, and happiness, but I don’t remember any in-depth details about it.
In all fairness, I was only a toddler and still human.
‘I was happy... And scared... Confused... So many things’.
‘Why?’
‘I hadn’t been a vampire for very long, Things were different back then, you have to remember, Alexander wasn’t in our lives, the horror of what happened in my human life was still very raw, Being a new vampire, I was dealing with knowing I’d never see my family or friends again.’
‘Aww, that’s so sad’. She nodded.
‘Well, Yeah, I mean, it’s hard not to be sad, isn’t it? It was my wedding day, or soon to be, and my mother, a woman who raised me, wasn’t going to be around, it was heartbreaking. It was an amazing day, and I wouldn’t change anything for the world’.
‘Well, I’m very glad’. We shared a laugh, and I looked over across the room, trying to find my Husband-to-be, and then my eyes landed on me, Standing in the corner, out of the way, talking to my dad.
Hmm, I wonder what they’re chatting about?
Alexander’s P.O.V
‘She’s looking at us’. I told my brother, I didn’t need to even look over to know Raven was staring at us. He turned quickily, Looked at her and then looked away quickily again.
‘Yeah, she is’ We laughed. ‘Probably wondering what we’re talking about’.
‘Oh, I know’.
Stop being a nosey bugger- I thought to her, I didn’t look over, but I knew she was probably having a little giggle.
‘Anyway, you ready for this wedding tomorrow?’ Kane asked, I nodded, ‘Nervous?’ I had to stop myself from laughing.
‘Bro, I’ve been married twice before..but..’ I sighed, debating whether I should open up to my brother or not. ‘I am more nervous this time than when I was marrying Drew.. or Imogine’. I saw him visibly flinch at the mention of my ex-wife's name.
‘Well, Considering you’re marrying my daughter, I’m glad to hear it’. We both laughed again. ‘There is something I want to say though Alex’. He suddenly went all serious.
‘Oh, Is this where I get the big ‘’Don’t hurt my little girl’’ speech?’ I joked, trying to lighten the mood, but he didn’t seem to find it funny. ‘Sorry’.
‘You already know I’ll kill you if you hurt her’. I nodded in agreement, I did already know that ‘No, I just wanted to say that, I’m glad she has found you, you’ve made her so incredibly happy. Thank you’.
‘No need to thank me. Thank YOU for giving us you’re blessing’.
‘My pleasure. Treat her right Alex’.
‘Always’.
We carried on talking and then when dinner was ready, we all sat around the table, talking together. It was so surreal, and when you think about it, a little strange. The bride and grooms family is the SAME family, But, Noone was bothered about that and Biologically, there was no connection.
I couldn’t help but look down the table at my future and she was looking back at me, smiling happily.
Everything was coming together so amazingly… so perfectly... Nothing could go wrong.
