It will make telling her about the werewolf community easier if she does have a wolf. She will not be as scared and panicky. Maybe. I come back to reality when I see her. My mate. My Emily. She is gorgeous in that dress. Breathtaking.
I see her looking around. Is she looking for me? As I want to go up to her my mother mind-links me to go to her. She has someone she needs to introduce to me too. I take one more glance at Emily before turning around to go outside where my mother is.
Elijah does not like the idea, ‘why do we have to leave Emily alone?’ he tells me. ‘You heard what mom says and I don’t think we should tell all these people that Emily is our mate just yet. It could put her at risk since she might not even know she is a wolf. She might not understand the whole mate thing either.’ Elijah groans but agrees.
As I find my mother outside, I see her with like five girls. Damn it, she is trying to see if I am mated with one of them. “Chris, all of these girls say they can sense their mates here. Although they have not found them yet. I want to know if one is your mate. Come here and touch their hands.”
Oh yes, the sure way of knowing your mate when you first find them is by touch. How could I forget. I do not actually want to touch these girls. It could give off the wrong impression if Emily sees it. I walk up to the first girl and shake her hand. Her eyes do not give off the twinkle and we do not feel the sparks.
“Not you my dear” my mother says. The first girl walks away hopefully she finds her mate sooner than later. As I turn to the second girl to shake her hand, I see Tony coming towards us and reaching out for the third girl saying, “mate” at the same time they walk towards the pool to talk.
