12 JAKE Edith was always so mature and self-confident that I often forgot that she was smaller than me, but that night she seemed much older. Only she could make me feel like a child who had to be scolded, because all she did was make trouble. Slowly I approached the sink and looked at myself in the mirror. I looked terrible and I was shaking. I had shivers all over my body. I rinsed my mouth and face, but I could not calm my mind. I kept seeing Edith again, sticking her fingers down my throat and making me vomit, supporting my head and helping me not to soil myself.
