Zaria lay curled on her side, the covers pulled up beneath her chin, the rhythmic crash of distant waves lulling her deeper into sleep. The moonlight that slipped through the open window stretched in a pale band across the bed, catching the edge of her silver hair where it spilled over the pillow. The door eased open with a soft creak. “Zaria…” Callen whispered as he slipped quietly inside the room, closing the door with careful fingers so it would not slam.
