Nadaria wiped sweat from her brow, balancing on her stool and attempting to hang a lantern from a tree branch in the back garden. The late afternoon sun was doing its best to warm the cool earth, and she was feeling the heat, but loving it. She and Aurelian had worked so hard cleaning up they decided to have the last dance party out here. “Careful!” Sorin called when the stool went wonky and started trying to buck her off. Nadaria giggled and put her arms out for balance, finding the sweet spot and steadying herself. “Well, if someone was helping,” she said. “You know I would be if I could.” He sat in the shade next to Mikolas’ garden. Much to his chagrin, she’d found him a lacy but solid parasol to use so he could walk out here with her without being burned by direct sunlight. “
