Chapter 7 One week later Mitch paused from chopping up hunks of beef into smaller chunks to wipe the sweat from his brow with his sleeve. With all the ovens on and steam rising out of several pots, even the rain-cooled air coming in through the window screens did little to make the area temperate. All he needed was one of those huge white chef hats to make him feel back in the groove of some of the fancier restaurants where he’d been employed. Some things never change. Next to him Jarvis worked on steaming vegetables while Hogan directed another of the kitchen workers on how to properly inject a roast.
