Chapter 20 “Okay. Rub this grime into the meat, right?” Calix asked. “Yep.” Mitch wiped his hands off gently on a kitchen towel after placing a chocolate cherry cake in the oven. “Rub it in good. Make sure every inch is covered.” Mitch closed the distance between them and peeked over Calix’s shoulder. “Add a bit more water.” Calix did as told, stirring the messy mixture, then lathering it on the large roast. Cooking wasn’t his favorite pastime, but hanging out with Mitch was. The two evened out on the plus side, in his opinion. Even if he had to get his hands dirty in yet another mucky mess.
