Chapter 14 Mitch paused to wipe the sweat off his forehead. The steaming pots added plenty of humidity and heat to the air. Together with his dashing here and there, the perspiration gathered and stained his shirt. No matter, he was actually used to it. All the kitchens he’d ever worked in were the same. You couldn’t cook in a busy place without perspiring just a little. “Roast is done,” Hogan announced. He plucked pans out of the oven and sat them on the huge center island. “Good.” Mitch glanced across the kitchen, finding Hogan dealing with the meat and Jarvis chopping vegetables at another station, both busy and hard at work. A few others had pitched in, some he recognized from short stints helping out. Others were new, presumably shifters that were driven to help or were camping out
