Chapter 5 Mitch woke with the tapping of rain on his window. So tempted to turn over and go back to sleep, he nearly missed glancing at the clock. As it was, the numbers caught his attention, made him sit straight up in bed, and throw his feet over the side. “s**t. It’s late.” He’d slept well once Cain settled down, obviously comfortably, too. Fatigue had taken its toll. Now, he had to get a move on in order to help serve the breakfast crowd. A slacker he wasn’t, especially on the second day of his job.
