Chapter 1: Life over Death

472 Words
They threw me like trash beside my parents, I could do nothing but stare at them lying still on ground. I knew they were no more, but I was not ready to accept it. I hoped they were alive and were unconscious. I wished it was a nightmare, and I wake up to a pleasant morning. But NO, this wasn't a nightmare but the worst reality. Every inch of my body was aching, I could barely move my hand. My tears had stopped flowing, may be there weren't any more left. It was dark, scary, and my body was at the verge of giving up on me, but I knew I had to survive. I had to make those people pay for what they had done. I wanted to stay strong, but I didn't know how. "God please help me" I yelled. Mom always said whatever happens is for a reason, but I didn't know the reason for my current state. I didn't know if my parents were alive. I didn't know if I would survive. But being an optimist, I hoped I will. While I was thinking all this, I saw a light approaching me. I assumed it was a vehicle. I didn't have enough energy to shout. I knew this was my only chance to survive. I mustered all the energy I had and shouted at the top of my voice PLEASE HELP...... HELP ME...... and I fainted. When I regained consciousness, I heard two people talking. A man standing behind me said "Vikram, we need to leave, also doctors have confirmed that she is out of danger." After opening my eyes, I saw a tall man in a pair of blue jeans and black T-shirt. He was fair, had bright eyes and sharp face features that could make any woman feel attracted any man jealous. I didn't know after how many hours I woke up. I couldn't recall what had happened. Even in that pathetic state I was attracted to the man. I wondered how could a man look so good. It was when, I heard his voice "Okay Sam" and followed the man walking before him. The door was shut behind him and my eyes longed for his sight. After a while,  when I was in my senses, I recalled everything that had happened and was thankful that I survived. God had given me a chance to live. That man I saw may have been the person to bring me here. May be he was in that car. May be he had heard my cries, I thought to myself. Immediately, I wanted to know how my parents were. I looked around to find someone, but there was nobody around and I could not move an inch from where I was. So, being left with no option, I waited for somebody to attend to me.
