Charlotte’s POV The sun had started to dip below the horizon by the time we pulled into the parking lot of a children’s clothing store that sat smack dab in the middle of a local shopping center. The sign above the window had a cartoon duck on it and read “Miss Paddywack’s Emporium: Clothes for Tots and Tykes!” Kieran parked the car without a word and got out. I grabbed my purse and went to open my door, but he moved faster than I could, circling the car and opening my door for me without saying anything. “Oh. Thank you,” I said, climbing out. My cheeks warmed faintly as I brushed past him, but he just nodded and shut the door behind me.
