The moment Nora said those words, Kieran seemed to come to his senses. He stood abruptly, dusting off his knees, and released me. As soon as his hands were no longer touching me, the pleasure faded, but thankfully, the pain didn’t return.
“I told you not to get the wrong idea,” he growled. “I won’t let you manipulate me, Charlotte. The rules were clear: if you develop feelings, you will have to leave.”
Without another word, he turned and left.
