As we exit the woods towards the cottage, we take a small pause, I notice that my mate appears completely worn down. Utilizing the energy during her ceremony as well as all of the intense feelings and energy spent since she first heard my name, I’m surprised that she hasn’t collapsed from exhaustion. I find myself full of great admiration in her strength.
Sarah leans against me for a moment, and I take this as a cue, wrapping my arms around her, I lift her up, cradling her to my chest. She lets out a soft sigh and rests her head on my shoulder, and I continue forward, carrying her bridal style towards her cottage.
