Dom was in the middle of cleaning the incubator when Kiko texted. At first, he was irritated, but relief soon followed. He’d pick up the paint while he was out running around on his other errands, and Kiko would believe he’d taken so long because he just couldn’t figure it out. Now he’d have to come up with some way to regain whatever ground he’d lost about working full time at Yolks on You. It hadn’t occurred to Dom that Kiko would be so disappointed he showed up later rather than went in with him in the morning. But now he didn’t trust Dom to be able to cut it full time at the store, and that was a problem. Dom would like nothing more than to quit his soulless job and work with his soulmate all day. He froze. He’d scared himself with his thoughts. So he loved Kiko; that wasn’t strange.
