Chapter 5-3

698 Words

“He’s not leaving,” said Dom as Kiko slid back behind the counter. Chad and Clark seemed to be finishing up fast now that there was something more interesting going on in the store, and Dom figured it would be easy to get Kiko to agree to closing early today. “He wants to walk the ferret. I would guess so a child will fall in love with it and prompt me to have to have it. But we’re not getting a ferret, Dom.” “I didn’t say we were,” said Dom, not wanting Kiko irritated with him for something Buddy did. He watched as Chad tried to pet the animal and Clark smugly accosted Buddy, who did not look pleased at whatever the reporter was asking. “They’d better not make a scene,” said Kiko as Buddy’s expression went from mild annoyance to full glare. “Somebody else can have the shouting match.”
