Chapter 8
When Cam got back to the embassy, she went right to her room and placed a call to Ramón. When his secretary answered, she identified herself and asked to speak to the Major. It was just a few moments before he came on the line.
“Cameron!” he started. “One of my men saw you outside Carlos Salavados’ coffee shop this afternoon.”
Cam smiled to herself. “Yes,” she confirmed, “I’ve laid the ground work to do business with him and I made sure Tad Taylor’s bill was paid. Salavado now knows me as Laura Stuard from Vancouver, in case we decide to go with plan B. I think one or two more visits will do it.”
“Excellent, Cam. How do you feel about bringing the ambassador and his wife into this now?”
