Chapter 6
The morning after the store trip, Alex had to drag himself out of bed at dawn to use the bathroom. His eyelids were heavy and he nearly fell on his face because he didn’t wear his lenses nor his glasses, and he hadn’t seen the pair of shoes in the hallway. He was so sleepy and so blind. He jumped in the shower and caught his breath while the cold water did its duty. He knew he would sweat in a few minutes but he needed to wake up.
He was strangely excited. He wasn’t sure if it was for Daniel or for the challenge but, considering he had never loved running, maybe Daniel had something to do with his excitement.
He put his sweatpants on and a shirt, his sneakers, and walked into the living room where he found Daniel waiting for him on the couch.
