That afternoon they all decided to go watch a high school football game, but as they were leaving the apartment, Gabriel said he remembered he had an appointment with Cindy-Mandy-Sandy-whatever and Kevin, inexplicably, remembered he had to go to Jason’s place.
Alex watched them for a moment with his eyebrows up to his hair and he held his breath, nervous at the thought of going to the game alone with Daniel. But when he saw his friend smiling while he was getting his hat and then motioning him toward the door, all worries were gone in an instant.
They spent a nice afternoon together: first they watched the game, finding themselves rooting for the same team, sitting together in the stands, and then they stopped to get a beer at a bar near the little stadium.
