“I’m not going to have Tessa suspended from the squad,” I announce. “I know that’s what you’re all expecting me to do but I won’t. There’s been enough in-fighting. It’s time we put that aside and try to work together for the sake of the team.”
“That’s not what Tessa said you’d do,” someone says. Her name is Vanessa. She’s in Tessa’s house. “She said you would try to kick her off the team.”
“I won’t,” I assure her. “Now that I’m back, I’m going to make sure we all get along. It’s my duty as captain.”
“Keeping the peace.” Ginny smiles. “I like it.”
“Same,” Violet winks at me. Everyone else nods. I can feel the ice thawing around us. We order our breakfast. While we eat, the girls chatter, filling me in on house gossip. Who’s dating who. Upcoming house events.
