*Odette* With his arm around me, holding me close, he is quiet as we ride back in the hansom cab to the residence. He remains silent as he unlocks the door, leads me inside, and prepares my bath. Even as he lifts me into his arms and carries me upstairs, he says nothing. But when we stand outside the bathroom, he finally says, "I've dreamed of bathing you."
