Evie’s POV
Arriving at the door to my door room, I paused for a second outside, curious to hear any form of movement. I can hear the sounds of drawers opening and shutting, light footsteps and objects being arranged.
Opening the door a smidge I peeked inside, the girl inside had bright blond hair styled in a messy manner. Opening the door fully signalling my presence, the girl turned around carrying a pile of clothes in her arms, the expression she had on was one that resemble a deer in head lights.
Staring at each other in silence studying each other, I’ve seen her around but it’s hard to pin point where exactly, maybe she was in my math class last year?.
“Hi, I’m your new roommate Evie” I greeted skeptical, hopefully she isn’t like the other girls who seem to hate me for no reason.
“Hello, I’m Annie.” Annie replied, Annie continued with her unpacking, she claimed the bed on the left side of the room, next to the window.
Looking around the room, it was a pretty standard room just like the others I had in the previous years. Three beds with one side table next to each, at the end of each king single bed was a set of drawers holding five drawers, three desks sat along the walls.
During my inspection I noticed that there was only Annie and I in the room, there are three beds. Where is our third roommate?
“Hey, where is our other roommate?” I looked over to Annie who was organising her desk, Annie looked at me with her brows furrowed.
“I don’t know, I thought she would be with you” Annie said with an unsure tone.
Rolling my eyes at her resort. “Bold of you assume I have friends, let alone company” I said dismissively. Waving her off, I claimed the bed in the middle, grabbing my bags near the door, I placed them on the bed.
Starting my unpacking with my carry bag filled with my personal possessions, grabbing what was in side I dropped them on the bed. Cosmetics bag, skin care bag, some hair styling tools, and so on.
“You have a lot of bags” Annie joked trying to start a conversation. Looking over my shoulder at her, I was surprised she would even try to talk to me.
“Yeah, I get a lot of attention from others so I like to look my best at all times.” I answered her, going back to my sorting.
“Oh, like boy attention?” Annie asked optimistic, I looked back at her dumbfounded, has this girl been living under a rock for the past few years?
“No, I get a lot of looks from girls and occasionally have to engage in unwanted encounters with them.” I said plainly.
“Ah, so you swing that way? Not that that’s a bad thing because it isn’t.” Annie stammered in a rush, hoping not to seem rude.
I couldn’t help but laugh at what she was thinking, grabbing my cosmetics bag and a bag filled with my toiletries I moved to my own dresser, placing them in the top drawers.
“No not like that, I just have a lot of little petty arguments with them and a lot of dirty looks from them.” I corrected with a grin. “ I mean you should have seen the looks I was getting when I walked in the building, I just know that they were disappointed when they saw no damaged from Whitmore” I gleefully said.
“That was you in the courtyard earlier.” Annie gasped in surprised at her new founding.
“Yeah.” I confirmed for her. Grabbing more of my personal stuff and moving them to their new home in the top drawers.
Annie sat in silence, remembering the fight that took place earlier, now knowing her roommate was one of the girls.
“What time are you going to dinner? maybe I can join you” Annie said hopefully from her spot on her bed.
Looking at Annie I saw her hopeful eyes, I want to decline her but she was the first girl in a while that actually wanted to be in my company, willingly!!
“Sure, I’m going down quarter past six” I informed her happily. Moving on to my suitcase filled with my clothes, I made quick work with sorting clothes and placing them on the bed next.
“Great!” Annie cheered from her spot on the bed, Annie got up from her bed to continue with her unpacking.
(1 HOUR LATER, 5:35pm)
Exhausted from unpacking, I collapsed onto my bed with a heavy sigh. Taking a look to the clock on the wall, I noted the time. Ten minutes to relax then I will get ready.
In my blissful state I started thinking, what will I wear at dinner, I mean I have to look cute but not make it obvious that I’m trying. Mentally going through the clothes I have and putting a fit together, I settled on a pair of black jeans with a little flare at the bottom and a red long sleeve that has three buttons going down.
It was time to get ready, getting up from the bed, I went to my drawers to grab what I needed, my clothes and cosmetics bag. “Annie, I’m gonna go to the bathroom real quick to freshen up, when I get back we can go down. Sounds good?” I announced.
“Sure” Annie answered, looking up from her book. Letting out a hum I left to the bathrooms.
Once I reached the bathroom, I stepped into a shower stall to change into my new clothes. When I was finished, I left the stall and found a spot in front of the mirror. Taking in my appearance, I decided what still needed to be done.
After touching up my makeup and redoing my hair, I packed away my things and left the bathroom. I headed back to the room to drop off my belongings and collect Annie so we could go down to dinner together.
