Chapter Three Pulse Baxley threw me back inside the cell, this time without the Dark One’s help. I just laid there, unable to move. My skin and eyes still burned. Everything hurt, and I didn’t feel my magic. I couldn’t get better without it. Was it possible that Baxley truly took it all away? He couldn’t have made me a normal human.
