Alessia was seated across the table from her father, poking at the grilled salmon on her plate. He was mid-sentence about one of his recent boardroom wins when her phone vibrated on the table. Checking her screen and realizing that it's Caleb, she immediately informed her father who urged her to answer it.
She listened to Caleb asking her to come over, that he has something to tell her.
It was new and in that instant, her mind raced to many thoughts. What does he have to say to her? Is he going to propose to her or what?
She nearly squealed. “Of course! I’ll be there. I can’t wait.”
After the call ended, her father looked at her, half amused. “What’s that about?”
