I kept going over the words in my head.
“Lets have dinner.. A proper date” That’s what I’d said to Caleb. I hadn’t planned it, hadn’t written it down or rehearsed it in front of a mirror. It just… came out. And once it did, it felt like the only thing that made sense.
After everything...the years apart, the silence, the way we’d circled around each other like ghosts, I knew we couldn’t go on pretending that chapter hadn’t been left half-written. It didn’t matter how complicated it still was, how much pain sat under the surface. What mattered was that I’d come this far.
