CALEB JENSEN. It was nearly midnight when I walked into the apartment. The lights were dimmed, the scent of vanilla thick in the air, and Alessia was sprawled across the couch in a silk robe that barely clung to her skin. She smiled when she saw me. “Finally.” I tossed my keys into the bowl by the door. “Didn’t realize you were waiting up.” “I wasn’t just waiting,” she said, standing and walking toward me, slow and deliberate. Her robe slipped just enough to expose her thigh. “I was preparing.” She reached out to me.. kissed my cheeks and began to loosen my tie. I stepped past her and headed for the kitchen. “I’m exhausted.” She followed, her voice low. “Too exhausted for me?” I didn’t respond. The fridge door creaked open.
