Chapter 33: Making love

Romulus came along and Fenris gave us privacy and ran off in wolf form again to find Jax.

“You still up for this? Remember, you can still choose to reject me, I know I haven’t been the nicest to you.” He looked almost sad.

Ignoring my shyness, I gently held his hand and nodded. “I’m sure.”

Smiling he gave a nod and said, “I, Romulus Joseph Knight of the Ragnarok dragon wolf pack, accept you, Rose Dawn Winters as my mate, I promise to love her, care for her and protect her through all the good moments and through all the bad always and forever.”

I repeated my part for the second time today and afterward he gently lifted my hand and kissed the back of it.

He held me close and bit me near where Jax had marked me, and then I marked him too.

We changed into our wolf form, and I was surprised to see his fur was white with streaks of gold here and there, unlike his hair color, though thinking about it Fenris was different than his hair color too, having gray and white fur.

After we had completed the ritual, Fenris and Jax joined us after a while and standing on the edge of the rock they looked up at the moon and howled.

They looked at me and I figured this must be part of the ritual or something and joined them in howling. I must admit it was great fun howling together under the moon.

We played and ran together for a few hours before I grew exhausted and Fenris noticed. He nudged Jax in the side and opened the link up between us all. “She’s tired guys, let’s take her home and let her rest.”

“How come none of you used this sooner?” I thought.

Fenris replied, “we prefer not to if we can, in our wolf form is the one place we can be free and completely the wolf, it’s not very wolf like to be chatting with one another.”

They ran off to go change and I found my own spot. I was halfway through it and gripped the tree beside me tightly as I grit my way through the change. I came out of the bushes and trees, and of course, they had already finished the change and had been patiently waiting for me.

I could barely keep my eyes open and when I stumbled, Jax caught me and quite literally swept me off my feet. He cradled me in his arms and I asked, “can I snuggle with all three of you tonight? Like our own little wolf pack?”

They all laughed and Jax answered, “whatever you want, darling.”

They took me into a different room, this one had a king size bed with gold and white sheets and duvet. It had a wooden frame with a white canopy draped around the bed, it looked perfect.

Jax put me in the middle and pulling his top off, he left his trousers on and lay next to me. “Come on Jax, you slept with her last night, let me lay next to her,” Romulus said.

“Ugh, fine.” Jax moved so Romulus could lay next to me, and Fenris climbed in behind me. I cuddled between them both, and Jax lay next to Romulus and reached his arm around Romulus’s head, so he could play with my hair and still have contact.

Romulus kissed me on the lips and murmured, “sleep well, love.”

I don’t know if anyone else said anything because being cuddled in what felt like a big puppy pile had me passed out within minutes.

I woke up in the morning to find myself between Romulus’s legs with my head on his lap. He was sat leaning against the headboard of the bed stroking my hair.

I looked around for Jax and Fenris when he said, “Fenris had to go do some work and Jax, I think dad’s having a more private conversation about him and his…issues.”

I was still a little scared of Romulus because of how he had treated me before, and so I wasn’t brave enough to try to kiss or cuddle him. I sat up and shyly said, “I should probably go get ready to do my chores.”

Romulus didn’t miss a thing because he said, “one, I’m not letting you do chores while you’re my mate and two, you don’t need to be scared of me.”

I turned to look back at him and he gently pulled me back so that my back was against his chest, his perfect muscular tanned chest.

He wrapped his arms across my chest and whispered against my ear, “I’m sorry for how I treated you, but you don’t need to be scared, I love you and I’m going to do everything I can to prove it and make it up to you for how I treated you.”

I snuggled into him, and he went back to playing with my hair. “You know, I still haven’t taken your virginity as a human yet,” he said teasingly.

Desire went through my body just thinking about it and I wondered if he felt it through our bond because he got up and locked the bedroom door.

When he turned back to see me watching, he grinned, “don’t want Jax bursting in and interrupting do we.”

I laughed because that was absolutely the sort of thing he would do.

“Humans can’t feel this?” I asked in disbelief.

“They can if we want them to, usually outside, we keep as much of it shielded from them as we can. Anyway, stop changing the subject and stop feeling self-conscious. I meant everything I said about being sorry, I told you the dirty thoughts I had about you even when I was acting like a d.ick. I love you, Rose and I really don’t care about how you look.”

He saw that didn’t make me feel better, and he said, “do you want honesty?” I nodded.

He sighed and looked down before making eye contact with me. I tried not to meet his eyes, but he used one hand to force my eyes back to his. “I’m your mate, you can look at me. If you want honesty, then we all know I’m the shallow one here, and you may not have the body type I’m used to, I really don’t care, you still turn me on, I still love you and no, I don’t expect you to change for me. Jax is right that personality can make someone beautiful, and I think you’re beautiful just as you are, the more I’ve gotten to know you, the more I’ve fallen for you.”

I smiled a little and felt better, and then he got back to kissing my body all over.

He kissed his way down my hips and along my thighs, then he worked his way back up the insides of my thighs and I cried out when he kissed me where I was already soaking wet.

I think he maybe licked me three times before I came seeing stars.

I was breathless after, and he grinned up at me, “we aren’t finished yet, love.”
