The gunfire finally started fading and the silence that replaced it felt almost worse because the ringing in my ears kept mixing with the sound of screaming that had already stopped. Smoke drifted through the broken sections of the building while shattered glass covered the concrete around us. Bodies lay across the warehouse like the aftermath of a damn hurricane. Raze’s people had pulled out fast and organized while the surviving men disappeared through the back exits.
