I stared, shocked, at the woman beside me. I hadn’t had the chance to really talk to her or get to know her. Once again, I realized what a terrible friend I was, not even bothering to learn more about my best friend’s mate. Maybe if I had, I would have seen just how incredible she was. She seemed perfect for Aiden.
“I... I don’t know how to let go. I feel like I’ve failed him, Mary.”
She shook her head.
“You haven’t failed anyone. There’s still time to make things right and to get Bella back. You just need to stop the drinking, the street racing, and the fighting. If you do that, you’ll be on the right path.”
I chuckled at her straightforwardness. It sounded so simple, but it was anything but.
