We begin this introductory chapter on wand lore with the wand itself and its various components. We will then follow this with a quick review of magical theory including the four planes of existence, the five metaphysical elements, and the three metaphysical phases. Next, we will quickly cover the use of magic wands when casting spells, list some of the most important of these spells, discuss how these spells can be grouped into spell sets based on their associated elements and phases. We will end with a brief discussion on the personalities of spells and the value of wand waving.
