Inside the palace, there was ominous feeling lingering in the air. Hazel could feel it. The breeze itself hit her sharper and harsher. Servants moved in the corners, eyes lowered like they were scared of something. Her heart felt tight and heavy at the same time, part of her felt regret that she shouldn't have come, another part felt it was a sacrifice for her family.
No one smiled. No one spoke. The only sound was the echo of their footsteps on the marble floor.
"This place feels like a prison," Hazel whispered.
The man shot her a look. "It is a prison. We're all prisoners here."
They stopped in front of a large chamber door and surprisingly it opened on its own. Hazel's eyes flew wide open when she saw this.
"it...it can..can do that" Hazel thought.
"This is where you will stay for now" the man said to her.
"When do I get to see the crown prince?" she asked.
"Whenever the prince feels like it," the man answered coldly.
Seriously!!! Hazel blinked.
Before Hazel could respond the man turned and left the room, strange she thought. The door creaked shut, and she was eerily completely alone in her new chamber.
