CHAPTER 13:COLD PALACE.

202 Words
Hazel reached the palace days later, the city felt unreal like it could see through her. At this point, she was already having a strange feeling but couldn't actually say what it was. It was too quiet... not the type of quiet that seems peaceful but the one that screamed danger. She got to the palace gates, the guards swung it open and she went inside. A guard stepped forward immediately; "Halt in the name of the crown prince!" "Who goes there?" "I'm...I...I." Hazel stammered. "Speak!" the guard. "I need to see the crown prince" Hazel said. Then there is heavy silence. It felt as if she just said something dangerous, deadly. The guard stared at her. "You want to see the prince?" He laughed bitterly. "You're either very brave or very stupid. The prince doesn't see anyone. He barely leaves his chambers." "Please!" Hazel insisted. "The palace is my last hope. My family is dying, I really need to see the prince." "Let her pass," a voice interrupted. A man stepped forward; tall, calm and controlled. He studied Hazel carefully to see if she was speaking the truth, then he turned and said; "Follow me."Hazel followed, heart pounding with dread.
