Nathan’s POV When I got home that night, it was almost midnight. I was relieved to find out that Nicole was gone. A part of me had dreaded coming back, unsure of what I’d say or do if I saw her. We hadn’t spoken since the fight, and I wasn’t ready to see her yet. I didn’t have the words to explain the confusion and anger twisting inside me. And yet, as I stood in the dimly lit entryway, my hand still resting on the doorknob, I realized how much I missed her. The silence that filled the house felt heavier without her presence. I sighed and shut the door behind me, trying to shake off the unsettling feeling that I had made a huge mistake. My thoughts wandered back to the last time I saw her, how vulnerable and confused she looked. But at that moment, I couldn’t bring myself to trust her.
