I tossed and turned in bed all night long, wondering about the meaning of what I saw today in the pack, Robert and Jake hugging each other like they were best of friends.
All the years I’ve known and dated Robert, he had never mentioned Jake, not once. So when did this closeness begin? Jake’s closeness with Robert was shady and, since Robert is an awful human being with bad intentions for everyone he meets, what does that make Jake?
Is Jake truly the monster the rumors describe him as? Or am I just overthinking things?
No, I sat up from the bed and moved to the window, looking out at the vast area of land stretching out before me. I cannot possibly be overthinking things. Jake and Robert were certainly involved somehow. And I need to know how?
