Nicole’s POV
When my phone buzzed and I saw Nathan’s name on the screen, I had a feeling I knew what he was going to say before I even answered. After everything that had happened, the puzzle pieces were falling into place. So when he told me that Alexandra had been the one to pay Isaac to drug me, I wasn’t surprised. Angry? Yes. But not surprised.
I sat there, listening to Nathan’s voice, as he explained what his investigator had found. My mind was already elsewhere, drifting back to the last time I had seen Alexandra. I could still see the smug look on her face as she assured me that she would break me and Nathan apart. The crazy part was that she almost did.
