Nicole’s POV
I pulled on my boots, grabbed my purse and left my room. Was I terrified? Definitely. It was the underworld we are talking about here. No regular person can survive there on their own. To make matters worse, I didn’t even know who I was going to meet, and I didn’t know what it was they wanted in return for the information they had.
I shook all my apprehension away. This was not the time to be scared. I had to be brave for my kids.
On my way out, I bumped into Jake. He looked breathtaking in his black leather jacket. When he saw me approaching my car, he jogged to where I stood.
