Nicole’s POV.
Exactly two years ago something like this struck me, but somehow I was able to maneuver. But this time it seems I wouldn't be so lucky like I was before. My eyes kept on flashing at his messages on my Samsung S23 Ultra and I couldn’t imagine my hands were still shaking. It felt like I was a living dead at the time because there was fire burning deep down inside me. I felt sweaty but this wasn’t with respect to the food before me, but the fact that I would be meeting Jake anytime soon. My heart ached and I lost my appetite too. I was surprised Nathan stared at me all along and observed I actually had my attention on something on the table which wasn’t the plate of food before me. He called out immediately.
“Nicole, are you alright?” He stared continuously and with the fork
