Chapter 12

315 Words
A Daring Escape Jessica ran towards Max, her heart pounding in her chest. She could hear James' angry shouts behind her, but she didn't dare look back. As she reached Max, he grabbed her hand and pulled her towards his car. "Get in!" he shouted, as James appeared at the door, his face twisted with rage. Jessica didn't hesitate. She leapt into the car, Max following close behind. He started the engine and peeled out of the driveway, leaving James' angry shouts behind. As they sped away from the mansion, Jessica felt a rush of exhilaration. She was finally free, finally escaping the prison that James had built around her. But as they drove, Max's expression turned serious. "We can't go to the police," he said. "James has too many connections. We need to get out of the country, somewhere he can't find us." Jessica nodded, her mind racing with the implications. She was leaving behind everything she knew, everything she had ever known. But she was gaining something far more valuable: her freedom. As they drove, the city giving way to rolling hills and countryside, Jessica felt a sense of hope that she hadn't felt in years. She was starting a new life, a new chapter. And she was doing it with the man she loved. But as the sun began to set, casting a golden glow over the landscape, Jessica's thoughts turned to James. She knew that he wouldn't give up easily, that he would stop at nothing to get her back. And as she glanced over at Max, she knew that she wasn't just fighting for her own freedom. She was fighting for their future, for the life they wanted to build together. But little did they know, James was already on their trail, his eyes fixed on the road ahead, his heart burning with a fierce determination. The chase was on.
