Phoebe barely seemed phased by the magic she had released, but Jessica crouched down and sat on the grass. “Are you okay?” Phoebe went to her side. “Yes, I’m fine. I need to rest a bit. I’m not young like you. Using that much magic took a lot out of me.” Jessica wiped her brow, and Charley stood by her. “I’d feel a lot better if I had a rifle in my hands.” He stood in front of Jessica to protect her from any attack. “That wouldn’t do much good.
