Lucas’ point of view
We spent the next few minutes in the same position, our bodies merged and arms flayed around each other.
Things are going too slow for us, she needed to trust me just like I needed to trust her and it was only right I take the first initiative.
“I lost both of my parents when I was kid too,” she spoke into the silence and a grin smacked on my face.
Just what I wanted, for her to trust me too and share her trauma with me. Instead she went silent, hanged on her last word as her face buried deeper into my chest.
“I guess what I want you to know now is that we have each other. That I promise never to leave you and always be by your side from this moment onward, alright?”
