Getting To Know You

William POV

I did exactly as Michelle asked the gas station where I first saw Yanin is where I stopped. Michelle moved to the back with Yairi. Both of them fell asleep about 20 minutes ago. We were lost in silence she scared me when she started talking.

"What's your full name" she asked. In a instant my heart sank she is going to reject me then I hear a laugh.

"What" I asked her.

"I didn't mean to make you jump I just thought since we were mates I could get to know you" she tells me. An instant sigh of relief I even let out the breath I was holding.

"I didn't jump" I say.

"Yes you did" she says smiling.

"My full name is William Anthony Kaizen, what about yours" I smile at her.

"Yanin Alexa DeMarco" she says.

"Alexa that's different like the Google thing" I say making a joke.

"You aren't the first to ask me that and no not the Google thing, she's a Barbie princess thank you" she tells me laughing. Man I could listen to that sound everyday and her smile has me lost.

"I actually had Alexa before Alexa was a thing" she continues.

"Well it's beautiful just like you" I tell her watching her blush.

"Ok William Anthony what's your favorite color" she asks turning toward me.

"Don't call me by both names I feel like I'm in trouble" I say earning another laugh. "And my favorite color is blue, what about yours?"

"Peach" she says.

"That's a fruit" I smirk.

Playfully she smacks my arm, "no well yes but it's also a color like a pinkish color" she says.

"What about favorite food" she asks.

"I could eat pizza all day" I tell her.

"Shut up, me too meat lovers all day" she says her eyes lighting up.

"You are perfect" I tell her I thought she had me before but damn.

"Am I your first mate" she asks taking me off guard.

"Honestly no" I tell her feeling my eyes water. She must have seen it because she placed her hand on my arm sending sparks up my arm. She felt it to because just as quick she pulled away and looked at her hand.

"I'm sorry" she says and looks out the window.

"You are fine I lost my first mate 5 years ago when I lost my clan" I tell her.

"Really I'm so sorry, you don't have to tell me anymore if you don't want to" she says just above a whisper.

"You are fine Yanin I almost died myself if Michelle wouldn't have found me" I tell her. She stays looking at me a hint of confusion in her eyes.

"5 years ago I took my men out on a hunt normal bear stuff. We found a small child barely hanging on to life. So we tried our best to get him back to the hospital. Only before we got back the boy passed away. We also learned that our whole clan had been wiped out. We were also attacked when we made it into our city. When I came to Michelle was dragging me on this make shift gurney. She said I was asleep for three days when I woke up I found out my clan was gone. My Esmeralda and our son were gone it was just me left." I hear my voice crack.

"You had a son and a mate" she asked. "I'm sorry" she says just as quick.

"Esmeralda was pregnant when she died and the baby we never got to meet" I say.

"I'm sorry for bringing up the memories" she says almost sounding like she's about to cry. I look at her and see her eyes watering. She just turns her head and looks out the window.

"Honestly I never told anyone what happened. In a way it feels good to let go of the past" I tell her.

"We lost our dad 5 years ago" she says looking at me with tear filled eyes. "My mom wouldn't let us go to the funeral she even told us Aunt Michelle was dead."

"You said it a few times that my Aunt can throw you around. How is that if you're so big and she's so small" she asks me. I reach over grabbing her hand in mine giving a light squeeze. To my surprise she opened her hand and intertwined her fingers with mine. Shock waves radiating through them.

"Why does it feel like that" she asks me.

"I don't know which question to answer" I tell her laughing a bit.

"I'm sorry I'm rambling I know just you make me nervous" she admits.

"I make you nervous, how do you think I feel" I say. She smiles at me and squeezes my hand tighter.

"Well for starters it's the mate bond that you are feeling. It's stronger with you and that part I can't explain but I can feel it" I tell her. "And honestly I don't know Michelle is the strongest in our pack. She never tells us her back story but she is a damn good trainer. When she's home she trains everyone" I tell her. "Sometimes I think she was some assassin before she found us" I get out earning a laugh from Michelle.

"Well thank you William you sure can make a woman blush can't you" she tells me.

"Well it's true, how are you the strongest" I ask.

"In due time William" she says. What does that even mean?

Yanin POV

We switched about 20 minutes ago but man this quiet is making me eery.

"What's your full name" I ask I see him jump and didn't realize I startled him. It's funny seeing a guy his size jump at little me.

"I didn't mean to make you jump I just thought since we were mates I could get to know you" I explain myself.

"I didn't jump" he says giving me a side eye.

"Yes you did" I say almost laughing. He is absolutely adorable. His rough demeanor makes him even more so that scar gets me and I want to ask but I don't want to be to forward.

"In due time William" she says. She leans her head back and closes her eyes again with a smile plastered on her face.

"William how old are you" I ask continuing my game of questions.

"I'm 26" he says.

"I'm 19" I tell him. Gosh I sound like a baby compared to him. I don't think he's even going to want to be my mate with the age gap. It's not much I know but I tried dating a few older guys. But once they found out my age it was a no go.

"Did you have brothers or sisters" I continue.

"I do my brother Valen is in the pack he found me when he heard about my clan" he tells me.

"It's always been just me and Yairi I would do anything for her. For the longest time I protected her from the guys my mom brought around. It's not something I talk about but I can be honest with you, right?" I ask.

"Of course, and what do you mean protect her from them" he asks I can tell he got angry his knuckles turning white.

"Maybe when I'm more comfortable I can tell you if that's ok" I get out quickly.

"Giving me time while getting to know you it means a lot to me. Other than the fact that you are perfect and way to good for me. I'm beyond happy you are my mate" I tell him.

"Well I love you" he says looking at me quickly like word vomit he couldn't stop.

He said he LOVES ME and I'm just staring at him like a fish trying to breath. Do I love him?
