No Danger Here

William POV

I'm sitting outside catching my breath Alpha was not messing around today. I like being in a pack where the Alpha is present with his warriors. Our Alpha is a werecat so he trains us like so and our Beta is a werewolf. It's kind of a f****d up pack we are misfits that lost everything and everyone. A mixture of werecats, werewolves, and even werebears like me. I here my phone ping more than likely it's Michelle. She's the only one that checks on me it's because of her I'm even alive.

Flashback (5 Years earlier)

I was running back to the clan, with a small cub covered in blood, from our usual afternoon hunt. Worry in all of my mens eyes why was he out here and who would hurt him like this. As we got closer to the clan the smell of fire smoke and blood hit our noses. Immediately fear crept in I looked down only to realize the cub was already gone. But I couldn't find it in me to lay him down yet. We don't know who is attacking us or why. I suddenly fall to my knees laying the cub down by my side. I knew immediately Esmeralda was gone she was pregnant with our first son. I roared so loud it could be felt for miles on end. He comes toward me laughing

Nicholas Samuels how could you.

"Aww William I told you I would get you back after what you did" he sneers.

"Not like this you could have came for me not my clan, not my mate" a sob breaking through me.

"Speaking of your mate she was lovely I do say" he answers. Before I have a chance to go after him someone stabs me from behind. I fall down on my stomach repeatedly getting stabbed and kicked. I must have passed out because the next thing I knew Michelle was dragging me. She pulled me through the forest on a makeshift gurney. Kept repeating to me not to freak out she was going to take me somewhere safe.

End Flashback

My message shows she sent me a picture I open the message and before I knew it I was calling her.

"This better be good" she answers.

"Did he see you at anytime?" I ask.

"Yes outside the auditorium for about two seconds, why" she says.

"Get out of there now you can meet the girls on campus next week but I need you to get to the pack house NOW" I yelled the last part. I can hear her jump off the bed and the sound of keys.

"How could you let him see you? He will know we are out here. He's the reason everyone in our lives are gone" I kept throwing stuff out at her.

"William my car won't start" her voice shakey.

"How far are you from the office?" I sigh.

"It's right in front about 10 feet away" she says.

"Stay in the office I'm on my way" I say before hanging up.

I jump into my black Duramax letting the Alpha know what is happening and where I am headed to. He knows about Michelle's mess up getting spotted twice. She must have been distracted if she allowed it to happen even one time. Why was she even over there to get them to begin with? I keep myself distracted for the two hour drive to Michelle she hasn't called or texted so that's good news.

I pull into the first gas station about 45 minutes away from the hotel she's at. I need to stretch my legs and relieve myself. I step out the truck and all eyes are on me. I know I'm a big guy and I get stares everywhere I go but the smell that hits my nose. It's like honey and calla lillies I look in the direction it's coming from.

"Mate" Theo says excitedly.

I watch her as she leans her head back on her Jeep and tears just roll down her face. I want to run to her and take the pain away but I'm glued to my spot. I wasn't pulled out of my daze until I heard a shout.

"Hey love I think pervy has the hots for you" a young girl laughs out. She wipes her face quickly and glares into the car. She looks up toward me and my breath is taken away I have to take a step back. If I didn't I might fall and embarrass myself panic set in on her face. She hurries to put the nozzle back on the pump. Hops in and drives off so fast she shoots rocks everywhere.

I'm kicking myself in the ass for not going to her and Theo is not helping.

"She is our mate why did you let her go you big loof" he tells me. "Our mate is in pain and you just stood there like child."

"I froze Theo I didn't know what to do ease up will you" I answer.

He shoves me out but not before murmuring if I lost his mate he would not talk to me anymore. I do my business and get back on the road. The whole drive all I see are those blue and purple eyes. I was so fixated I almost passed the hotel I walk in the office and find Michelle passed out in the lobby. Nice to know there's no danger here I wake her up and tell her to sleep in the truck. She gets up and goes to the truck locking it behind her while I go see hers. There's a white Jeep parked right next to her almost identical from the girls at the gas station. I don't see anyone so I pop the hood and look around. I reach to pull out my phone to use the flashlight her lights under there hood are just not bright enough. I turn on my flashlight and drop the damn phone now I'm digging in-between the battery and side wall trying to fish it out.

I feel eyes on my back and a shock wave of excitement.

"Our mate is watching" Theo comes back up.

I turn to look in the Jeep and sure enough she is laying with the seat back and her eyes closed. I see a carbon copy of her asleep in the passenger seat and walk around. I lightly tap on her window knowing she's awake. I see her hold her breath and let out a chuckle. With that she opens her eyes and I'm lost in the pools of blue and purple. I gesture for her to come out of the car reluctantly she reaches for the handle. But not before she looks over at the sleeping body next to her.
