Luca's Pov The thought wouldn’t leave me alone as I sat in my study. Rico had always been straightforward when he needed to speak to me, either calling or showing up unannounced. Why had he sent the staff to me with his message this time? It was out of character, and the longer I thought about it, the more it gnawed at me. I picked up my phone and called him. The line rang, then went dead. Frowning, I tried again. Still no answer. My unease deepened, twisting into something more urgent. Rico wasn’t careless—not with his phone, not with anything. The clock read 11:47 p.m., but sleep wasn’t an option. I grabbed my jacket, slid into my shoes, and headed for the car. I needed to see Rico, to make sure he was okay.
